Thailand has continued its impressive run in women’s volleyball at the Asian Games, claiming a bronze medal after a decisive victory over South Korea. The match, held at Park Arena Komaki as part of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026, saw Thailand triumph with straight-set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23.
This victory extends Thailand’s streak of medaling in the event to four consecutive Asian Games, adding to their previous bronze medals from 2014 and 2022, and a silver in 2018. The team’s resilient performance against South Korea underscores their consistent prowess on the continental stage.
In the opening set, South Korea initially took the lead, but Thailand quickly responded with strategic attacks and robust serving, ultimately securing the set at 25-20. The second set remained closely contested until Thailand regained control, overcoming an 11-9 deficit to win 25-19 through intensified offensive plays.
The third set mirrored the competitive spirit of the entire match, with South Korea again leading early on. However, Thailand’s determination saw them equalize at 12-12, and the teams remained neck and neck until the final moments. A critical error by South Korea granted Thailand the match at 25-23, solidifying their bronze medal victory.
