Minneapolis city leadership has responded forcefully, with the mayor declaring unwavering support for the Somali community and warning about potential constitutional violations. Local officials emphasized that most Somali residents hold legal status or citizenship, stressed that city police maintain independence from immigration enforcement, and cautioned that appearance-based targeting would inevitably harm American citizens.
