Amid expanding international partnerships, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates are reinforcing their bilateral ties across various sectors. On Friday, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung met with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi, at Cheong Wa Dae to discuss ongoing collaborations and future projects between the two nations.
President Lee underscored the significance of the agreement forged during his visit to the UAE in November, which aims to foster a long-term partnership. During the meeting, Lee expressed gratitude for the UAE’s prioritization of crude oil supplies to South Korea in March, highlighting the deepening relationship that now spans beyond energy to include defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and cultural exchanges.
Al Mubarak conveyed greetings from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and emphasized the strength of the partnership with South Korea. He noted that the scope of cooperation has widened to encompass investment, space exploration, healthcare, and education, signifying a strategic expansion beyond traditional sectors like energy and infrastructure.
The meeting in Seoul comes at a time when both nations anticipate further high-level discussions, with the potential for a summit in South Korea next month. President Lee called for enhanced communication between officials from both countries to transform their cooperative efforts into tangible projects, reinforcing mutual trust and coordination.
