by admin477351

President Lee Jae Myung said Tuesday that South Korea’s newly finalized tariff deal with the United States has reduced economic uncertainties and strengthened the country’s export competitiveness. Speaking before the National Assembly, Lee said the agreement ensures tariff levels comparable to those of rival nations in key industries such as automobiles and semiconductors, securing a fair environment for Korean exporters.
Lee also noted ongoing progress in consultations with Washington regarding the supply of fuel for nuclear-powered submarines. He said these talks have reinforced South Korea’s foundation for self-reliant defense and advanced its strategic capabilities. The developments follow Lee’s recent summit with US President Donald Trump, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic and defense cooperation.
